Welcome to the Restaurant Owner’s Marketing Academy or ROMA for short. My name is Sherry, senior content executive at crispclicks.io.


In this introductory video, I'm gonna give you an overview of what you can expect to see in the future content of ROMA. I'll also give you a heads up of the one thing to avoid, in order to execute these concepts and strategies successfully in your food service business. So let's dive right in.

The purpose of ROMA is to empower independent, family owned restaurant businesses with evergreen marketing strategies, and the tools needed to implement them. The original idea started after we identified three huge problems in the restaurant industry. Modern day marketing information is oversaturated, too generic, and isn't conveniently available to busy restaurateurs and managers like yourself. Not to mention, technology is moving so fast that when you finally find the information, it may be outdated. None of these problems are your fault or within your control.

ROMA solves these problems by providing you with a one stop shop for niche specific, up to date evergreen marketing information in a quick and simplified way. All for free. Now you might be wondering, what's evergreen marketing? By definition, it's marketing strategies that stay relevant over a long period of time. Marketing is a long term game. We chose to focus on this because we've found it to be the best compounding investment that you can make in marketing your food service business. We then show you examples of how it can be applied with the modern day tools that we have available to us. Tools like social media, A.I., your website, email, text, Google, flyers and signage, the list goes on. This is what you'd expect to see from us inside ROMA.

As promised, I’m gonna give you the one thing to avoid in order to be successful with the concepts and strategies taught in ROMA. In order to do that, we have to address the elephant in the room, which are excuses. The excuses you tell yourself internally and the ones you tell yourself out loud. You may have said to yourself and others, "I don’t have time because I’m too busy", "I don’t have money because its another expense I can’t afford", "It’s too complicated", "It’s not for me", "I’ve tried it before but it doesn't work", or the worst one of all, "my regular customers will keep me afloat". Have you ever thought or said any of these things? These are all reasons or explanations put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense, which is an excuse by definition. These excuses are giving you reasons to not market your business properly just so you can feel better about yourself in the short term. Which is okay. But what is the trade off? Who suffers in the long run? Your business, your family, your community, your employees, and yourself. With marketing, action is better than no action. And consistency is where you'll find the gold. In order for you to use the concepts and strategies taught in ROMA successfully, you must change your mindset and eliminate those excuses. We'll do our very best to help you with that. However, at the end of the day, it's up to you to make things happen. Congratulations on making it this far as you’ve taken the first step towards doing so.

Many of you watching this may be chefs who are restaurant owners, restaurateurs, or managers. It's your moral responsibility to bring in opportunities for the business on top of running the day to day. Customer service and operations are important, but the focus is and always will be, getting customers to service or you won’t have a business to operate. Thankfully, we live in a golden age of opportunity with the current state of the internet. Acquiring customers has never been easier... By no means is it easy, but compared to the previous decades where the conditions were much more harsh, it's much easier.

ROMA will help provide you with the knowledge and adaptability to do this... With the right training, a consistent thirty minutes of focus per day is enough to build success with marketing your food service business over time. It's important enough to make it a priority.
